Triple Trail Trek

July 19-20, 2003

We'll head up Hwy 50 to Strawberry and take the Strawberry Pass Trail across to Hwy 88 (Caples Lake.) This is a moderate trail with two or three sections approaching difficult. It's also twisty and narrow (branches).

Then we'll take Hwy 89 the short distance to Red Lake and take an easy dirt road to a camping spot by a little stream. After setting up camp, people will be free to hike, rest, fish, etc...

The following day we'll continue south on the forest road (013) over the pass to the Blue Lakes (maybe a little time for fishing and kayaking, etc.)

After lunch at Blue Lakes, those that prefer a more moderate/difficult trail will take the Deer Valley Trail over to Hwy 4 and back.

Those wanting an easy/moderate trail will take the road past Tamarack Lake into Indian Valley.
